Job Description
IKO is a global leader in manufacturing roofing products with production facilities worldwide. We are currently seeking a Maintenance Specialist to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Ennis, Texas plant. This plant produces premium roofing shingles in a high-speed, continuous, asphalt shingle manufacturing process environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identifying and correcting all unsafe conditions and completing a safety assessment of all work prior to starting the job.
2. Troubleshoot, monitor, adjust, maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and machinery throughout the production facility and complete necessary work orders accurately and timely.
3. Diagnose equipment operating issues and make required repairs. Change pumps, motors, gearboxes and other components as needed.
4. Work with other Mechanics and Electricians to resolve operational equipment issues.
5. Operate forklift, scissor lift, boom lift and overhead crane when needed. Fabricate and weld tools or equipment when required.
6. Operate precision machine tools to make or repair parts.
7. Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
8. The position is subject to 24-hour call out; shift, weekend and overtime work.
9. Responsibility & Accountability for being compliant with all IKO rules, policies and SOPs.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
1. Proven experience working in and maintaining a safe work environment with intimate knowledge of LOTO procedures and other safe practices.
2. Associates Degree in Industrial Maintenance or a Certified Industrial Mechanic or Millwright.
3. Minimum of five years maintenance experience in a plant setting.
4. Millwright skills, welding and machining experience preferred.
5. Excellent working knowledge of appropriate use of hand tools and maintenance equipment.
6. Ability to properly disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble complex mechanical devices such as gearboxes, pumps and motors.
7. Ability to fabricate simple parts for corrective maintenance.
8. Ability to read and understand detailed repair & instruction manuals.
9. Must be able to work with computer-based maintenance software.
10. Possess superior analytical and troubleshooting skills.
11. Must be able to safely lift and move up to 75 pounds on a routine basis.
12. Must be able to access equipment for repair and maintenance, which may require crawling, bending, lying underneath equipment, and crouching.
13. Requires excellent manual dexterity.
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
