Senior Automation Engineer

The Senior Automation Engineer role will be responsible for implementing automation solutions efficiently to meet client requirements.
This role involves full end-to-end delivery of the automation component of projects, including documents and code, in compliance with GAMP-V processes.
This role leads the standardization of software and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with stakeholders such as Clients, Sales, production, technical teams to define project requirements.
2. Specify, design, install, test, and commission new equipment as required.
3. Develop and program machine-oriented visualizations and cross-machine SCADA systems in the pharmaceutical industry.
4. Write and modify PLC software for new projects and support existing software on clients' sites.
5. Create and design required design documents such as Instrument Schedules (IS), FDS, SDS, HDS, and input into electrical design.
6. Manage specifications, design, purchasing of equipment, interpreting electrical schematics, overseeing the Build of projects within budget, allocated time, and corporate guidelines, commissioning, and handover.
7. Work with sales teams to deliver competitive solutions to the industry as directed by the Manager.
8. Responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy, ethically, and environmentally responsible workplace and business.
9. Responsible for Automation Variation Change Requests (VCR) with clients where scope deviates from/as sold/specification.
10. Manage procurement of long-lead-time items for projects with the procurement team to meet project timelines.
11. Manage Factory and Site Acceptance Testing protocols and execution (FAT/SAT).
12. Support existing equipment with after-sales support.
13. Travel to client sites as required for commissioning.

Requirements:
* 7+ years of previous Automation Engineering experience.
* Competent working with technical and electrical drawings and specifications.
* Strong project management skills with proven problem-solving skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Multitask ability to work with several projects at a time.
* Experience of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as used within the Life Sciences industry.

Educational Requirements:
* Level 8 Degree in computer science, Controls and Automation, or equivalent with relevant experience.
* Experience in Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC programming and HMI/SCADA systems.
* Knowledge of EU-ATEX & US HazLoc Guidelines an advantage.
* Knowledge of communications protocols and networking an advantage such as Profinet, Ethernet IP, ModBus, Profibus.
