The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to Membrane Manufacturing Operations.
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician will execute all maintenance activities in support of production in a safe, cost-effective, and environmentally sound manner, assuring capacity and achieving plant performance metrics.
ResponsibilitiesList of Equipment (non-exhaustive) consists of Powder Transfer Systems, Mix Vessels, Die Extrusion, Membrane Web Handling, Annealing Ovens, Test machines, Solvent Recovery Units, Thermal Oxidizer's, Heating and Cooling Systems, Chemical Store, Tank Farms and Wastewater.Responsible for Line Changeovers to produce product to the specified quality standards.Complete all necessary documentation as per cGMP.Perform Preventive Maintenance tasks.
Ensure all equipment is maintained to a high standard.Complete troubleshooting for all Membrane equipment & operational related issues.Work within the Engineering Team of Mechanical and Electrical disciplines including Automation, Calibrations, Facilities, Project, System and Reliability Engineers, with emphasis on performance, involvement, teamwork, and personal development.Utilize the ERP/CMMS system SAP Next, to ensure all maintenance activities executed through consistent application of a work order system.Identify areas in which maintenance capability should be improved, lead improvement in these capabilities and reduce dependence on external resources.Ensure that all maintenance activities meet all the regulatory standards (e.g.
FDA, IMB, HSA, EPA...).Provide input into, and assist in the completion of, OPEX (Operational Excellence) projects to improve equipment reliability, automation, reduce lead-time and reduce EHS risks in the department.Focus on reducing equipment downtime and increase efficiency of machine changeovers.Identify, develop and implement projects in the areas of efficiency improvement, scrap reduction, product quality improvement, cost reduction, safety, etc.Perform all tasks with due recognition of safety, environment, cGMP & plant procedures.Train new production personnel on relevant equipment.Assist with EHS investigations and issue resolution.Assist with process improvement work in the department.RequiredTime served Electrician with a manufacturing background.Strong instrumentation ability / qualification also desirable.Minimum of 3-5 years working in a Med Device or Pharma manufacturing environment.Knowledge of ATEX and maintenance of Ex rated equipment.Demonstrated high performance history, proven ability to execute and results driven.Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.Preferable experience with a Calibration System & CMMS SAP PM System.Be familiar with various Planned Preventative Maintenance approaches.Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Quality and Environmental Health & Safety.Familiar with GMP requirements within a regulated industry.Effective verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills.The ability to work effectively within a team environment.High level of energy and enthusiasm and the ability to energize others.
