The project: Our client is Ireland's national regulated water utility firm and is responsible for providing water and wastewater services throughout Ireland. Reporting to a Project Manager and working across the project/programme team, the Assistant Project Manager's focus will be on supporting project/programme delivery. Through a multidisciplinary approach and close liaison with both internal functions and external service providers and stakeholders, the Assistant Project Manager will help to ensure that projects/programmes are delivered safely, to the necessary quality standards, on time and to budget. Sustainability and innovation targets will be a vital part of project and programme deliverables.

o Develop a LA Roads Knowledge base, becoming experts in ROL conditions and negotiations.
o Developing reinstatement costs per LA for capital budgets in conjunction with Commercial and Estimation Teams.
o Attendance and input to project and programme governance workshops to ensure risks and budget align with LA requirements.
o Managing day-to-day B.A.U. activities including finance, project set up, SharePoint, ROL queries and escalations.
o Enhance and manage the ROL (Road opening licences) Guidance and Controlled Documents.
o Provide ROL training (ROL systems) to PM's and Contractors.
o Contributing to regular reviews of Compliance Performance and KPI's across IDD Programmes and Contractors.
o Responsible for promoting and delivering health and safety commitments across UÉ and its supply chain, reinforcing positive behaviours and delivering health and safety objectives and requirements to the highest industry standards.
o Support the delivery of the Uisce Éireann Transformation Programme delivering results required within the Directorate and supporting organisation wide objectives.
o Other duties as required.

You'll need to have:
* Experience in contract and commercial management desirable.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions.
* Demonstrable experience of Portfolio and/or Programme management and delivery of large programmes/projects.
* Relevant third-level qualification and or accreditation in Project Management, Civil Engineering or Construction.
* Demonstrated people management ability, proactive development, motivation and engagement of staff.
* Experience in the water, utilities or similar industries is desirable.
* Driving licence and vehicle desirable.
* Highly motivated individual, working to the highest professional standards and with proven ability to deliver results within a team.
You'll also have:
* Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to change focus and direction in line with business strategy and requirements.
* Proactively identifying new areas of improvement and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job.
* Experience in developing and forming relationships with other stakeholders within projects.
* Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
