Key Responsibilities: Stock Handling and Organization: Accurately receive, inspect, and store incoming materials, chemicals, and food products. Ensure that inventory is organized and stored in appropriate locations to minimize risk and optimize workflow. Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory systems regularly. Order Picking and Packing: Select and pack customer orders accurately, ensuring the correct items and quantities are picked. Prepare goods for shipment, ensuring compliance with packaging and labeling requirements, especially for chemical and food products. Perform checks to ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications. Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts to move stock safely and efficiently around the warehouse. Load and unload deliveries, ensuring items are moved without damage and according to safety standards. Perform regular checks on forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working condition. Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, particularly in relation to handling chemicals and food products. Ensure the warehouse environment is kept clean, organized, and free from hazards. Participate in safety training and report any issues or potential risks to the Warehouse Manager. Stock Control & Inventory Management: Conduct stock counts and cycle counts as required to ensure accurate inventory levels. Assist with reordering of materials and supplies as needed to maintain operational efficiency. General Warehouse Duties: Assist with general warehouse housekeeping and maintenance. Assist colleagues in other warehouse functions as needed, ensuring smooth operations. Qualifications & Skills: Essential: Valid forklift certification and experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment. Proven experience working in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment, preferably in the chemical and/or food industry. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly with regard to handling hazardous materials or food products. Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems. Desirable: Experience with food safety and quality control standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP). Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
