Build your finance career with management accounts responsibility and working with experienced industry professionals.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance of accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries in Sage.
* Generate revenue invoices and record receipts for all IGBC membership, education, events and certification activites.
* Review overdue invoices with relevant managers on a monthly basis.
* Accounts payable invoice processing and payments for all operating and project-related expenses.
* Prepare monthly management accounts including profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow, comparing against budget and/or forecast.
* Prepare all relevant reconciliations including bank reconciliations.
* Prepare a summary of management accounts for inclusion in the bi-monthly Board report.
Financial Planning, Tax
* Prepare monthly rolling cash flow forecast.
* Assist in financial planning including the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, working with the CEO and external CFO.
* Prepare VAT calculation and return.
* In conjunction with external payroll provider, ensure payroll tax return and payment is completed.
Audit/ Year End Accounts
* Maintain comprehensive finance policy and procedures including scheduled annual review by CFO.
* Maintain appropriate filing systems for financial and administrative records for auditing purposes.
* Co-ordinate preparation and audit of annual financial statements with third party accountants/auditors.
* Preparation of other financial reporting, including Charity Regulator, as required.
Qualifications and Skills
Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, ACA).
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 3 years relevant experience in accounts, administration, or a financial support role is required *Preference will be given to candidates with accounts experience within a non-profit or project-based environment.
Proficiency in financial software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) *Must be highly proficient in Excel for project reporting.
A clear understanding of accrual accounting is essential, as opposed to cash-based accounting, as most of the organisations income is either membership or grant funding.
