As an Automation Manager, you will play a crucial role in achieving our strategic objectives related to Safety, Quality/Compliance, Supply Assurance, and Value.
Your Core Responsibilities
1. Provide automation, manufacturing execution systems, and technical support to ensure stable and efficient site operations.
2. Partner with the EHS Hub to develop and deploy sustainable EHS programs, manage safety initiatives, and create a valuable EHS learning program.
3. Engage proactively with the team through 1:1s, development planning, and regular updates to foster continuous learning and growth.
4. Drive clear work and development plans for the team through coaching and mentoring.
5. Ensure effective writing, revising, and implementation of all automation-related documents and procedures.
6. Develop and manage escalation plans for routine and emergency responses for the automation team.
7. Maintain automation systems in an inspection-ready, GMP compliant state and manage automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory safety, GMP, Sox, and Validation requirements, and manage service contractors and suppliers effectively.
Who You Are
You are ready if you have:
1. Experience in the pharmaceutical industry with hands-on experience in filling line operations.
2. Knowledge of FDA, GMP, HPRA, data integrity, safety, and environmental requirements.
3. Significant experience with managing industry platforms such as Production Automation Systems, Building Automated Systems, and Data Historians.
4. Proven ability to work cross-functionally, meet schedules, and embrace an interdependent work culture.
5. Experience in change management and lifecycle management, including the implementation and oversight of automated systems and processes.
6. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
7. Proactive in staying current with the latest technologies and automation practices.
Nice to have, but not essential:
1. Proven record of accomplishments in a Pharma/Biopharma company or related industry.
2. Organization skills – Ability to manage multiple priorities and know when to escalate issues for resolution.
3. People management experience.
