Listowel Credit Union is seeking applications for the role of Credit Controller, on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced credit controller. The base location of the role is in Listowel, with flexibility to be stationed in our Ballybunion office, as required. The role is open to hybrid working arrangements.
Job Purpose
Reporting directly to the Finance Officer, the Credit Controller is responsible for the progressive implementation of Listowel CU’s Credit Control Policy and procedures, whilst also providing regular support to the Finance and back-office functions of the credit union.
The Credit Controller will assist in ensuring that credit control risks in the lending portfolio are identified and assessed, then managed and mitigated to an acceptable tolerance level as set out by the Board of Directors. The role will implement effective credit control decisions and plans under the guidance and direction of their manager, providing an efficient service to members within authorised limits, while minimising the number of accounts in arrears.
As a control function, this role is accountable for ensuring that the relevant Individual Accountability Framework responsibilities are met, in line with regulatory requirements.
Role Requirements
1. Ideally two years senior credit control experience.
2. Qualified/part-qualified in a relevant business/financial qualification desirable, along with QFA/APA Loans or working towards these.
3. Previous Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process (MARP) knowledge and experience beneficial.
4. Previous experience supporting a Finance function preferable.
5. Detail-oriented and organised, with strong numeracy and analytical skills.
6. Excellent administration and report writing skills.
7. Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, with accuracy and personal accountability.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence others.
9. Focused on continuous improvement, eager to learn new skills, show initiative and excel in the role, bringing improvements to the department.
10. Approachable and friendly, with good teamwork and collaboration.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications.
12. Experience working on other ERP Systems, i.e. core banking systems.
