The Diabetes Care Kilkenny Facility
We are opening a new manufacturing facility in Kilkenny in 2024, which will be a centre for world-class engineering, quality, medical device manufacturing, and other science-based professionals to produce life-changing technologies.
The facility will focus on producing products such as the FreeStyle Libre 3 system, which provides real-time glucose readings directly to smartphones.
Join Our Team in Kilkenny
We are seeking a Lead Operator to join our team in Kilkenny. As a Lead Operator, you will ensure that production targets and schedules are achieved for your line.
You will assist the Operations team lead in achieving the goals of the process area and provide guidance and information for operators and support groups.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Co-ordinating aspects of the production area workflow to meet Master Schedule requirements.
* Coordinating work assignments within the production department, including training, technical support, and process/trouble shooting support.
* Working with internal resources to resolve problems.
* Serving as the Process Line Subject Matter Expert (SME) and representing production on projects when needed.
* Responsible for the startup and shut down of their line or area.
* Coordinating break schedules and assisting with machine operation during breaks.
* Assembling, repairing, inspecting, and/or testing products following written instructions.
* Setting up and operating a variety of manufacturing machines or equipment following written instructions.
* Cleaning tools and equipment per documented procedures.
* Recording information on approved documents.
* Ensuring compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
* Solving complex problems requiring advanced interpretation of generally defined procedures and practices.
Qualifications and Experience
* A minimum of a Leaving Certificate education.
* Previous experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a Senior Operator role, with demonstrated ability to acquire and apply manufacturing principles.
* Experience working in a highly automated, high volume manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device, pharma, automotive, tech, or food industries.
* Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment, prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and holding others accountable.
