Our client, a global leader in renewable energy and telecommunications with a turnover globally of over €1 bn are seeking to hire an Electrical Project Engineer. The role is based in Dublin. Key Responsibilities: Conduct initial surveys with a focus on electrical technical requirements. Provide essential electrical information to support the design and execution of solar projects. Support the creation of electrical schematics and Single Line Diagrams (SLD) for projects. Design and plan cable layouts (both DC & AC) and determine optimal cable routes. Develop accurate system designs, cost estimates, and comprehensive bills of materials for solar ground-mount and rooftop installations. Oversee and manage the full electrical installation, including data cabling, smart loggers, and monitoring systems. Analyze system performance data and PV generation output. Oversee the installation of G10 and G99 components, CT Clamps, breakers, and LV/MV site connections. Assist with HV/MV Transformer and Switchgear operations as required. Provide battery storage solutions when necessary. Collaborate with the solar team on labour cost analysis, project planning, electrical installation, and successful project delivery. Support Project Managers and clients by offering technical solutions and coordinating on-site activities. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a standard that exceeds client expectations. Set departmental KPIs, drive improvement initiatives, and ensure high standards for safety, quality, and efficiency across projects. Conduct system testing, commissioning, and witness testing. Manage SEAI grant applications, grid connection documentation, and DNO requirements. Provide detailed handover documentation, including as-built information and site images. Oversee the operation and maintenance of solar systems to ensure consistent and optimal performance. Skills and Experience Required: MEng/MSc or BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (or a related field). Industrial electrical experience with a strong understanding of LV/MV systems and AC/DC circuits. Certification in Micro Solar Photovoltaic Systems Implementation or Micro-Generator Electrical Installation (QQI/FETAC) or an SEAI-recognized equivalent course is advantageous. Demonstrated experience and expertise in electrical systems for solar and renewable energy projects. Knowledge of G10 (ROI) and G99 (NI) specifications. Experience in electrical estimating, particularly within the solar or renewable energy sectors. Familiarity with Solar PV industry software, UK and Irish regulations, and industry standards. Understanding of grid connections, SEAI grant requirements, and relevant documentation processes. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and electrical diagrams. In-depth understanding of electrical rules and regulations specific to solar projects. Proven ability to adapt and perform in fast-paced, dynamic work environments. Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple objectives simultaneously. Strong problem-solving skills to meet evolving project demands. Excellent health and safety knowledge, with IOSH Safety certification being desirable. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, and Adobe Pro, with experience presenting to senior leadership teams. Exceptional communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
