Job Description:
The Role
Equity Technology is looking for a Principal Cloud Engineer to work as part of the Developer Enablement team responsible for designing and implementing holistic Developer Experience (Dev Ex) full-stack solutions, supporting DevOps patterns and practices, and standardizing tools and solutions across Equity Technology. We are passionate about understanding the needs of developers across Equity Technology and designing and building creative solutions to meet those needs. Strong leadership, communication, and application engineering skills are essential to garner the needs of developers, propose appropriate solutions, and to plan, break down, and deliver tangible work.
The Expertise and Skills You Have
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Computer Systems Networking, Information Systems/Science, or a closely related discipline
2. Hands-on working experience with AWS and cloud services and technologies, preferably with accompanying certification(s)
3. Experience writing application code in any of following: TypeScript, Java, Python
4. Experience in scripting languages such as Groovy and/or Bash
5. Project leadership skills to gather requirements, track issues and risks, and break down complicated work into smaller units
6. Technical leadership skills to advocate for new tools and/or technologies
7. Technical architect skills to design holistic technical solutions based around fundamental design patterns and principles
8. Familiarity with, and willingness to learn more about, CI/CD pipelines, supporting infrastructure, system and security configurations, Pipelines as Code, and Infrastructure as Code
9. Desire to identify complicated problems and creatively explore solution options, regardless of technology
10. Passion to improve the developer experience by making development easier and more efficient
11. Eagerness to learn new technologies
12. Willingness to practice and promote progressive engineering standards
13. Ability to stay current with latest engineering trends and practices and bring them to the team when appropriate
14. Knowledge of the SCRUM / Agile development practices and proven collaborative work style
