As Director of Business Development, WuXi Vaccines, you have the unique opportunity to join the WuXi Business Development team across Europe, to focus on our service offering for WuXi Vaccines as we rapidly increase our customer base in Europe. As we continue to support and enable new and existing customers, we are seeking to add to our business development team.
This role is responsible for providing strong cross-functional leadership within the European sales territory, while continuing to grow the business across existing and new accounts.
Working closely with the WuXi leadership team and operations to develop the right strategies and tactics to meet the annual revenue targets for the region. To be able to stay current on competitors and competitive strategies and provide input needed for the development of future services and products.
This position can be based anywhere in Europe, but preferably in the UK. Reports into Snr Director, Global Business Development and Alliance Management.
Responsibilities
1. Achieve European regional sales target for WuXi Vaccines projects in the European region.
2. Grow revenue through cross-selling into existing accounts, managing the portfolio of customers and generating new business.
3. Plan and perform the selling, proposal and contract negotiation process independently.
4. Build strong internal relationships across functions.
5. Represent WuXi Biologics and WuXi Vaccines at key trade shows.
6. Contribute to key commercial strategies across the sales team.
7. Responsible for managing all aspects of the customer relationship.
8. Timely update of CRM and monitoring of KPIs.
Qualifications
1. At least 5+ years of life science experience in the vaccine industry or related area.
2. At least 5-10 years of successful sales and territory management experience within the CMO / CRO vaccine market segment.
3. Strong written and oral communication skills.
4. Strong gravitas and relationship-building skills.
5. Listening and empathy demonstrated.
6. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
7. Demonstrated success at managing multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously.
8. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in direct reports and cross-functional capabilities and to exhibit effective interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics.
10. Must be organized and detail-oriented.
11. Good command of English, written or verbal.
12. Ability to accomplish the described duties with the use of appropriate computer equipment and software (especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and CRM tool).
13. Valid Passport and the ability to travel 50% of the time.
