Senior Chemistry Analyst (Laboratory Analyst 3)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Chemistry Analyst to join our Chemistry team based in Ros Muc. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, this role involves overseeing daily lab operations, leading testing procedures, and supporting the training and development of junior analysts. If you have a passion for chemistry, a strong background in both organic and inorganic chemistry, and are looking for a leadership role in a fast-paced laboratory setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
1. Scheduling of workloads and sample testing daily.
2. Ability to work within and lead multi-functional project teams and independently with minimal supervision.
3. Proficient in Organic and Inorganic Chemistry.
4. Overseeing and scheduling of PT testing.
5. Training of new analysts.
6. Ensuring that any out of specification results are investigated according to site procedures and leading these investigations.
7. Ability to competently carry out preventative maintenance of instruments.
8. Ensure metrics are met in the Chemistry laboratory.
9. Completion of testing documentation/LIMS and helping to reach KPIs targets.
10. Support of validation activity.
11. Knowledge of equipment installation and operational qualification validations.
12. Maintaining laboratory SOPs and specifications in a state of compliance.
13. Performing or assisting Deputy Quality Manager with calibration of equipment.
14. Ensuring the waste control and Lab cleaning schedule is adhered to on a daily basis and that the laboratory is consistently kept in an orderly manner.
15. Performing any other activities as indicated by the Chemistry Laboratory Supervisor.
16. Manage the development, performance and review of routine testing items under INAB conditions.
17. Test method development for in-house or client specifications.
18. Leading validation projects of new instrumentation and tests.
19. Preparing and reporting of results, and follow up information for clients.
20. Compliance with ISO 17025, INAB requirements and CLS internal quality and technical procedures and provide support during audits.
21. Acting in supervisory capacity in the absence of the Laboratory Supervisor.
Who You Are:
You are a detail-oriented chemistry professional with experience in a laboratory environment. With your strong leadership skills, you’re capable of scheduling workloads, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and mentoring junior staff. You are knowledgeable in both organic and inorganic chemistry and can lead testing investigations, troubleshoot equipment, and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Where You’ve Come From:
You hold a 3rd level qualification in Chemistry or a related field. You have 2-3 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting. You’ve developed strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing you to effectively collaborate with your team and clients. You have a deep understanding of GMP, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 17025 standards, with hands-on experience ensuring compliance in a regulated lab environment. You are proficient in test method development, CAPA management, and have led non-conformance investigations.
