About the Role: Our client, a global leader in biotechnology, is seeking a highly experienced Director/Senior Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Security to oversee and enhance safety operations for their Manufacturing Operations site in Limerick.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated professional with extensive expertise in EHS and Security to shape and drive organisational safety culture, regulatory compliance, and risk management across all levels.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in leading the EHS and Security teams, ensuring all health, safety, environmental, and security measures are in line with local and national regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities: Champion a Safety Culture: Drive safety programs and behavioural awareness across all operations.
Lead EHS & Security Teams: Develop policies and provide direction for the EHS and Security teams, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices.
Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the creation and submission of compliance documents and reports to external regulatory agencies and internal audit teams.
Risk Management & Emergency Planning: Ensure comprehensive emergency planning and risk mitigation strategies for all sites.
Liaison with Senior Leadership: Report key EHS and Security metrics to the Senior Leadership Team, driving organisational changes when needed.
Policy Review & Enforcement: Regularly review and revise compliance documents, including SOPs, plans, and policies, ensuring adherence to all regulations.
Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the EHS/Security department and other management teams to resolve safety issues and implement policy effectively.
Engage with External Agencies: Liaise with local and national emergency response organisations and represent the company during audits and inspections.
Essential Skills & Experience: A bachelors degree (BS) or higher in a relevant discipline.
10+ years (Director level) or 15+ years (Senior Director level) of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environmental management role within a regulated operational manufacturing environment.
Proven supervisory and leadership experience, including working with local and national regulatory bodies.
Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills, with the ability to drive change and influence at all levels of the organisation.
