Position Description We are recruiting an IT Strategy Analyst to be part of the IT Strategy Team within the Enterprise Architecture function of the Chief Information Office (CIO) organisation in Enterprise Services, reporting directly to the IT Strategy Manager.
Digital and data are a key foundational capability within ESB's Net Zero 2040 Strategy.
The CIO organisation is responsible for defining and driving out 'fit for future' technology (e.g.
IT, digital, data, AI, cloud, and cyber) strategies to transform ESB into a data-driven utility, ready to exploit the next waves of technology and data disruption in a targeted way.
The IT Strategy Team is at the heart of strategic thinking for CIO, responsible for identifying and delivering the key enabling technology strategies to support the delivery of ESB's Enterprise Digital and Data Strategy, Business transformation programmes and ESB's Net Zero 2040 Strategy.

Key Responsibilities Apply CIO's IT Strategy Framework and ESB's Digital Operating Model to develop and deliver key enabling technology strategies for ESB.Collaborate effectively on strategy development with Strategy Owner(s), Digital Accelerator, Data & Analytics, Cybersecurity, IT Delivery teams, etc., ensuring the appropriate level of support and oversight is provided.Develop and maintain a 3-Year IT Strategy Roadmap of key enabling IT strategies for ESB, utilising Lean IX as data source to manage the IT Strategy Portfolio, and the team's IT Strategy Power BI Kanban for reporting purposes.Develop appropriate business cases and value scorecards for all strategies, working with Finance, IT Portfolio Management, BU Transformation Value Offices, and Digital & IT Business Partner Teams to ensure relevant funding approvals in place to deliver the IT Strategy Roadmap, and co-ordinate set-up / assignment of SAP WBSs (Work Breakdown Structures) for relevant resources.Support IT Strategy Manager in managing external partners, and when necessary, lead tendering processes to ensure appropriate level of resource capacity and capabilities are in place to support the development of key enabling technology strategies.Manage forecasting and IT Strategy budget in-line with IT Portfolio Management financial reporting process.Organise timely payments to external partners in-line with ESB's monthly billing process.Evolve and continuously improve own thought leadership and strategy capability, team processes and ways of working, and CIO's IT Strategy Framework (approach/methodology, session/workshop/output templates and playbooks, supporting toolkits, etc.)
to ensure alignment with ESB's Digital Operating Model.Define, manage, and execute IT Strategy stakeholder management plan for key stakeholders across ESB, building strong relationships, level of awareness and buy-in for the role of IT Strategy in strategic business transformation.Develop and organise Learning Series in partnership with our partners / vendors on topics (e.g.
Enterprise Architecture, Second Line of Defence for IT, etc.)
that are directly related to Enterprise Architecture's priorities.Engage with other CIO Strategy Leads to establish a Strategy Community of Practice (CoP) and organise meetings on a quarterly basis to drive strategic focus, encourage knowledge sharing, and the identification of key enabling strategies required.Working with IT Strategy Manager, support the implementation of ESB's new Technology Risk Management Framework and associated Target Operating Model in-line with best practice to mature Second Line of Defence for IT.Experience & Qualifications Minimum of 5+years' relevant experienceRelevant 3rd level degree in IT, computer science, information systems or equivalent working experience in IT roles.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to multi-task, and leading the delivery of high-quality service to tight timescales.Excellent reporting and documentation / writing experience including Microsoft Office 365 applications skills (e.g.
PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
).Experience in project management methodologies including waterfall and agile delivery.Experience of developing strategy documentation associated with this role (e.g.
strategic vision, objectives, principles, road-mapping, etc.
).Experience using Microsoft Power BI to develop reporting dashboard solutions.Experience in maintaining SAP LeanIX as a key data source.Experience of monthly billing processes, and experience in Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) / WBS management.Exposure to the requirements of working in a regulated environment and multiple partners who need to understand how your processes are delivered.A broad range of knowledge and understanding of wider commercial, business, and economic issues relevant to ESB and wider energy industry.Location This position will be based at ESB's Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 3.
