EHS Senior Engineer (Hybrid)

About the Role
As a Senior EHS Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving safety and sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Your expertise will help improve lives by enabling safer, smarter healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management:
Drive activities leading to new and improved safety methods with significant project-level impact.
Participate in training, audits, incident reporting, assessments, and safety projects.
Support the development of the Global Safety and Health Plan (GSHP).
2. Communication:
Develop a network of support within facilities, manufacturing, engineering, and warehousing teams to facilitate project completion.
Provide safety consulting services for task-oriented programs.
Analyze and report key health and safety data to senior stakeholders.
Collaborate with management to define project parameters and develop corrective plans.
3. Leadership:
Lead activities related to risk management, including managing the site risk assessment schedule and driving risk reduction initiatives.
Oversee processes related to Management of Change to ensure EHS requirements are met for all new projects.
Communicate and review these processes effectively across the site.
4. Corporate Initiatives:
Promote and support sustainability and environmental management programs to create an EHS excellence culture.
Support business units and EHS Champions in understanding and meeting EHS requirements through the Tier Board process.
Monitor compliance with EHS programs.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should possess:
Essential:
EHS Degree or NEBOSH General Certificate (or similar safety qualification).
Strong understanding and implementation of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
Preferred:
Engineering skills or qualifications.
Experience with occupational health, wellbeing, and behavioral programs (e.g., Mental Health First Aid).
2-3 years of experience, ideally in a manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical environment.
High level of interpersonal skills.
Work Type: Hybrid (on-site induction and periodic on-site presence based on business needs, with flexibility to work from home).
Location: Athlone, Ireland.
Eligibility: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Ireland without sponsorship for employment visa status.
