Job Description
A new role has recently come available with a company based in Cork City, who are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our organization and contribute their skills and expertise.
The ideal candidate will support the Company Accountant in managing the company's financial processes, and the day-to-day running of the company accounts.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Accounts Payable: process supplier invoices, perform vendor reconciliations, and ensure timely payments.
* Accounts Receivable: generate customer invoices, monitor receivables, and follow up on overdue accounts.
* Perform daily, weekly and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash records.
* Assist with maintaining the general ledger, posting journal entries, and conducting account reconciliations.
* Review and process employee expense claims.
* Maintain accurate financial records by entering data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
* Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing relevant financial information and analysis.
* Statutory reporting - VAT, VIES, Intrastat, PAYE etc
* Supporting annual audits.
* Supporting Payroll on a monthly basis.
* Ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
* 3+ years of experience in a similar Assistant Accountant / Senior Accounts Assistant role.
* Part qualified accountant or Qualified Accounts Technician
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
