The Role The Welder will maintain, repair and service equipment used by the Doyle Shipping Group.
The Welder will work as part of the maintenance team, also assisting electricians and fitters in the maintenance, repair and servicing of equipment.
Main Duties will include: Position and secure work pieces using hoists, cranes or hand tools.Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions.Follow policies, procedures, work methods, directives and work rules established by company management.Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area.Read, understand and apply technical information contained in engineered drawings, specifications or manuals to the assembly of manufactured parts.Heat, form, and dress steel parts using hand tools, shop machines, gas torch or hand plasma equipment.Determine required equipment, welding method and welding techniques.Fully understand manufacturing drawings, able to verify dimensions.Use welding techniques like MIG, TIG, and arc welding to fix metal components.Check welded parts to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.Work with other technicians to determine the best repair methods.Keep records of work done, including materials used and time spent.Restore the structural strength of machinery, including rusted areas.Who We're Looking For The successful candidate will possess the following:
Full, clean Category B driving licence or an equivalent driving license from another country which is valid in Ireland.Fluency in English, both spoken and written.Good literacy and numerical skills.Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.Proven ability to work within a team.Essential The successful candidate should have previous welding experience, as a requirement.
