RECRUITERS / Principal Lead (CIPD Associate Member)
The Role: Category Buyer
As a Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in managing material requirements within our clients ERP system, ensuring timely delivery to support production. You will take ownership of a specific category of materials, working closely with suppliers and production teams to maintain efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create purchase requisitions, requests for quotations, and purchase orders
* Ensure timely material delivery to meet production schedules
* Monitor exception/shortage reports to adjust orders as needed
* Liaise with suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and tracking performance
* Manage transport logistics, ensuring efficient shipment and collection of materials
* Maintain accurate order confirmations and collaborate with planning teams
What We’re Looking For:
* 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing role, ideally in manufacturing
* Proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred)
* Strong communication and organizational skills to liaise with production and suppliers
* Ability to work to deadlines, use initiative, and thrive in a busy environment
* A team player with excellent problem-solving skills
