Job Description:
Job Opportunity: Site Engineers (3 Positions Available) – Cork & Killarney
Company Overview: Our client is a leading Tier 2 Main Contractor based in Cork, with an urgent requirement to hire three Site Engineers for upcoming projects in Cork City, Millstreet Town (Cork), and Killarney.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Surveying and Setting Out: Conduct site surveys, set reference points, and establish benchmarks to ensure construction accuracy.
2. Quality Control: Monitor and uphold quality standards through inspections, tests, and assessments, promptly addressing any deviations.
3. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination.
4. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve engineering issues on-site, proposing solutions as needed.
5. Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including site diaries, progress reports, and as-built drawings.
6. Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce and adhere to health and safety regulations, fostering a strong safety culture on-site.
7. Materials Management: Oversee the delivery, storage, and efficient usage of construction materials.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (desirable).
2. Proven experience as a Site Engineer in the construction industry.
3. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
4. Proficiency in surveying and setting out using total stations and other surveying equipment.
5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Familiarity with relevant software and tools such as AutoCAD and project management software.
