The Opportunity
We are looking for a Site Manager at Hitachi Energy's Grid Integration business in Dublin, Ireland. The sites you will manage can be anywhere in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan project on-site activities together with the Project Manager, including necessary resources, equipment, and milestones.
* Coordinate agreement between customer and external resources on construction targets, health and safety requirements, site organization, and policy.
* Be responsible for the site, from receiving the assigned site area from the customer until handing it over to the customer on completion day.
* Serve as a project representative on site.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with customers as well as other local stakeholders.
* Ensure correct handling, storage, and installation of equipment and material to avoid any damages.
* Report promptly to project logistics when goods have been received to site.
* Ensure that detailed and up-to-date risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are in place in respect of each work package, compliant with the project health and safety plan.
* Ensure all on-site resources are properly trained and proactively promote health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project.
* Control project cost for the project site work, monitor actual spend against forecasts, and estimate final cost for the same.
* Ensure all documentation is modified and updated as necessary, the document handling system is maintained, and latest revisions are used for the construction work on site.
* Manage the sub-contractors on site to ensure that necessary quality and progress are achieved to meet delivery date and agreed standards.
* Report regularly to the Project Manager on site activities, HSE (health, safety, environment), quality, progress, cost.
Your Background
We are looking for someone with a Bachelor's in electrical/mechanical engineering or equivalent skills and 5+ years' experience as a Site Manager in construction and/or installation business.
Good understanding of transmission regulations and current HSE legislation.
Proven leadership skills, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Swedish and good communication skills in English.
