Overall Purpose of Job:
The Materials Management Team is responsible for the purchasing of stocks and equipment and distribution of the same throughout the hospital in a timely and efficient manner.
Within the Materials Management Team, the Warehouse / Hospital Operative is responsible for the day-to-day activities included in the operation of receiving stock into Bulk Stores, holding stock within hospital stores, distributing the stock through the hospital as required, and managing the stock through the various locations.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:
* Perform day-to-day stores activities.
* Execute accurate goods receiving and the tidy and timely processing of associated paperwork.
* Receive, process, and organise stock deliveries.
* Conduct goods inwards inspections including counting.
* Manage physical flow of stock through the warehouse including issuing parts, equipment, and consumables as per our procedures.
* Packing of goods and shipping products outwards.
* Utilise and maintain computerised stock system.
* General office administration including processing delivery dockets.
* Execute accurate and timely stock put away process in accordance with required procedures.
* Respond in a timely manner to warehouse queries and requests.
* Work with computer systems as needed.
* Pick stocks in both satellite and bulk stores as required for all departments on a routine scheduled basis and highlight any stock shortages and issues to the relevant personnel.
* Deliver stock to all departments within the Hospital and Suites as required.
* Participate in physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
* Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Supply Chain Manager, taking on any extra projects as required.
* Actively participate in general housekeeping duties in the warehouse.
* Comply with Health and Safety regulations.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
* Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
* Basic computer skills.
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and e-mail).
Experience:
* 6-12 months similar experience ideally in a regulated environment desirable.
Job Specific Competencies and Knowledge:
* Organised.
* Numerate.
* Excellent interpersonal and team working skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative, unsupervised.
