Job Description: To coach and develop store teams through strong leadership, to ensure delivery of retail objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To deliver store sales within budget, by leading a resourced, motivated and engaged team.
2. To ensure that the retail strategy developments are implemented in the Store and fully communicated to and understood by the team.
3. To fully understand commercial performance, driving sales and maximising margins and profits.
4. Achievement of objectives, sales targets & budgets.
5. Reporting on delivery of sales targets and activities.
6. Responsibility for Health & Safety on site ensuring all Health and Safety standards are adhered to at all times in line with statutory legislation and Company policy, addressing any safety concerns as they arise.
7. Ensure compliance with ISO standards 14001, 9001 & 45001 for Environmental, Quality and Health and safety at all times, maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
1. Contribute to the development of GPG strategic direction.
2. Work closely with the Head of Retail & head of marketing to ensure marketing strategies are understood and being met.
3. Ensure store is fully resourced to maintain levels of customer service and achieve targets.
4. Deliver effective succession plans throughout the team to manage vacancies in the store.
5. Develop the team through proactive personal development plans which are formally reviewed annually and informally on an ongoing basis as required.
6. Conduct exit interviews at Store level for all leavers to identify key areas of risk.
7. Through coaching and leadership, ensure that the mission statement, values, business objectives and retail objectives are understood and fulfilled in the Store.
8. Identify and manage poor performance as appropriate.
9. Utilise wider resources (e.g., Human Resources, Head of Sales, Marketing team, GPG Technical team) to optimise results.
10. Protect and manage GPG brands.
11. Manage customer and vendor relationships.
12. Drive training and development for store members and overall team.
Customer Service
1. Proactively manage store mystery shopper reports striving for sustainable improvement.
2. Engage with customers directly to gain an understanding of their experience, product requests, technical and colour requirements.
3. Monitor and drive the delivery of Customer experience in store, always leading by example.
4. Review and reshape in-store Colour Consultancy offering.
5. Manage and reduce risk in store.
Commerciality
1. Ensure accurate space and product strategy to drive sales.
2. Drive performance of sales budgets through analysing relevant reports and coaching the Store team.
3. In conjunction with Head of Retail, develop and roll out suite of programmes for consumers, Interior Designers, and Painters.
4. Utilise space management for effective seasonal and product marketing initiatives.
5. Develop and maintain strong awareness of the local market and competitors and exploit opportunities.
6. Build relationships to identify and grow local opportunities.
Managing Profit & Costs
1. Manage store costs to maximise profits.
2. Interpret daily, weekly, monthly figures and take action as required.
3. Drive sales volumes and increase margins through innovative sales and marketing initiatives.
4. Monitor margins on a rolling basis.
5. Drive for sustained improvements on reducing poor performers.
6. Identify opportunities to promote GPG products.
7. Ensure stock file accurately reflects stock on hand and stocktaking.
8. Effective management of Cash Control.
9. Effective stock taking.
10. Ensure all company policies and procedures relating to security of company monies and stock are strictly adhered to at all times.
11. General housekeeping to include cleaning and the upkeep and filling of the shelves on the showroom floor, on a daily basis.
Communication
1. Adopt an inspirational leadership style which encourages a high level of morale within the store and drives a positive “Can Do” attitude, positively influencing the team.
2. Take ownership and drive effective communication in the store and to GPG, always leading by example and ensuring communication is timely and consistent.

14. Undertake any other duties as requested by the Head of Retail/Senior Management.
