The Brokerage division sits in Advice Solutions. The role reports to the Director of Brokerage.
Brokerage is a key distribution channel accounting for approximately half of Irish Life's total retail sales volume through circa 1,600 intermediary relationships. To support our ambition to grow in the retail intermediary market, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Sales Manager (GWL13) reporting to the Brokerage Head of Sales.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive growth to meet ambitious commercial objectives through team flexibility, effective sales activity and accountability for key performance indicators (sales, margin, persistency, digital adoption, cost management etc).
2. Work closely with proposition teams, to develop, propose, gain acceptance and implement the strategic plan for the sales team, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.
3. Manage and deploy tactical pricing in line with Broker Segmentation strategy, ensuring that our overall proposition is positioned and deployed effectively across the market.
4. Drive a high-performance culture by setting measurable goals, ensuring transparent reporting and holding teams accountable for results.
5. Lead, develop & manage a team of L11 account managers and sales development specialists, across 3 distribution channels/managing key relationships, building talent for the present & succession planning for the future.
6. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory & market conduct responsibilities, representing the organisation to key stakeholders, including regulators & shareholders.
7. Oversee and manage costs within the sales division, ensuring budget adherence and effective cost control measures.
8. Lead and drive change management initiatives to support business transformation and competitive positioning in the market.
9. Stay well-informed of competitor and market propositions, linking in with Proposition Development to identify gaps in our proposition.
You will need to be successful in this role if you have:
* - Degree, Business Masters or other relevant qualification.
* - Commercial Awareness / Insight.
* - Process / Proposition / Product Knowledge.
* - Strategic Skill & Business Planning.
* - Significant experience of managing key external relationships with retail intermediaries and have a proven track record in delivery of results.
* - Significant experience of managing a team of account managers (L11).
* - Significant experience of managing activity and performance measures.
* - Significant experience of the life assurance and broker market and its workings.
* - Very detailed experience of how Irish Life operates as well as strong credibility with Brokerage staff.
* - High level of personal credibility across Retail and Irish Life Group and externally with Brokers, Partners and at an industry level.
* - Must meet Fitness & Probity as set out by the Central Bank.
* - Must meet Minimum Competency Standards.
* - This role involves significant travel outside of the office, the candidate must hold a full drivers license.
