Financial Controller
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our client's team. Reporting into the CFO, this role is ideal for a Qualified Accountant looking to progress their career in a successful Irish company with a global presence.
Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the CFO to manage the financial results for the company.
* Manage the Accounting team including recruitment, training and development, and performance management.
* Oversee the preparation of the monthly management accounts for different regions within set timelines and provide financial commentary on the same.
* Provide financial advice and support and updates to Divisional Heads and Regional Directors.
* Support the preparation of regional annual budgets.
* Evaluate and ensure adequate internal financial controls exist and are adhered to within regions.
* Develop effective procedures or initiate change to support delivery of key operational, commercial, and financial targets.
* Collaborate with the Accounting team to prepare financial accounts, Revenue requirements, and payroll within set timelines.
* Lead cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives.
* Drive process changes in the Accounting area to facilitate timely provision of information to key business owners and scalable growth strategy.
* Coordinate and collate Board reports from each region for review with Directors.
* Provide valuable insight into monthly financial reporting to inform Divisional Heads and Regional Directors of variances in financial reporting to budgets.
* Offer regular updates on key performance indicators.
* Maintain compliance with accounting and tax legislation.
* Challenge and question processes to drive results.
Requirements:
* ACA/ACCA qualified Accountant.
* 5+ years experience working in the industry.
* Ability to work independently.
* Effective communication skills at all levels.
* Proven ability to adapt to new systems.
* Experience with reviewing processes to improve them.
* Strong understanding of current accounting standards, practice, and guidance.
* Experience with Sage software essential.
