Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Mining
A rare opportunity to join an established company in North East Ireland as a Mechanical Project Engineer with a background in mining.
Role Overview
This permanent role involves working on exciting new mine development projects, focusing on capex and new equipment for a brand new facility. The full project team is already in place, making this the last hire for the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage projects to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery in agreement with the mine manager.
* Project manage all mine-related projects, developing scopes, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
* Confer with Mine maintenance and facilities supervisor, project teams, and maintenance department to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, provide technical information, and implement sustaining actions.
* Lead and manage mechanical projects across mining and quarrying operations.
* Research and analyze design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
* Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
* Research, design, evaluate, procure, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.
* Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crews.
* Ensure installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of machines and ensure equipment is installed and functioning according to specifications.
* Conduct research that tests and analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
* Recommend design modifications having identified the real root cause to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
