The position provides technical support (process and moulding) and mentoring to engineers and team members.
Job Responsibilities
1. Lead and facilitate design/specification and qualification of new mould & adhesive material for an existing product.
2. Independently, or lead a project team to identify, plan and conduct medium to large-size projects that require custom, risk-managed execution plans, investigations, and/or equipment.
3. Develop Process Design for this project to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with design standards and specifications.
4. Understand the business needs of the company and have a thorough understanding of customer and clinical needs as they relate to projects.
5. Lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams to support organizational goals.
6. Serve as subject matter expert (SME) or independent technical expert (ITE) on a project's technical matters; may interface with senior management, external firms, or agencies; may coordinate technical matters between organizations.
7. Conceptualize complete solutions; create or coordinate the design solutions for novel or complex problems; explore multiple alternatives.
Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree (preferably in Polymer Engineering, Polymer Science) or a closely related discipline, or equivalent technical experience and demonstrated competence required; additional post-graduate education may contribute toward the desired years of experience.
2. Typically requires 8+ years of significant engineering and/or operational experience to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position.
3. Expertise in Plastic moulding technologies, mould tool designs, and processes.
4. Expertise in Adhesive design and process.
5. Effective communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
6. Problem analysis, fault finding on injection mould tools and equipment.
