Role
Solventum Ireland is looking to appoint a Snr. Director of Distribution Centre and Transportation - EMEA. This is an important appointment, and you will have an opportunity to define strategy and implement transformational changes geared around operational excellence, safety, ethics and compliance, and employee relations. The role is based in Athlone, on a Hybrid basis and will make an impact by:
* Leading a team of approx. 50 direct and indirectly reporting logistic professionals across EMEA plus several internal Distribution Centres.
* Leading the DC network consisting of approx. 25 European DCs, Regional DCs, Local DCs, and Supply Chain Warehouses.
* Defining and implementing the EMEA Distribution Centre Strategy.
* Designing the organization that allows to meet the overall targets.
* Leading the transportation for EMEA including inbound and outbound freight.
* Establishing a Safe Sustainable Operations – safe places to work with reduced Hazards and Risks, driving for sustainability.
* Driving continuous improvements for the categories. Introduces innovative strategies for Supplier excellence.
* Driving continuous improvement efforts by implementing lean methodologies, process optimizations to achieve cost reduction targets.
Your Skills And Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications and skills:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in supply chain/engineering or business-related field.
* Significant experience in logistics, manufacturing, and continuous improvement environment.
* Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a virtual international team that is split over multiple countries and regions.
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience across the logistics processes and organization.
* Demonstrated ability to develop and strengthen organizations, build teams, bring our customer needs to life, and effectively motivate and energize organizationally.
Additional experience/qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
* Experience in the Healthcare/MedTech industry will be highly desirable for this role, as it demonstrates a strong understanding of medical technologies, regulatory requirements, and the ability to navigate the complexities of healthcare systems.
Work location: Athlone, Ireland
Work Type: Hybrid - Job Duties allow for some remote work but require 2/3 days per week in the office.
Travel (30% Domestic & International): Travel will be required to EMEA Distribution Centres (not excluding any other business travel). Countries in scope include: Ireland, Poland, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Israel, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Türkiye, Germany.
