Purpose of the Post
The role of the Clerical Officer (Ward Clerk) is to provide secretarial and clerical support to the multidisciplinary team (MDT) at unit level.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties, including:
* Providing clerical/secretarial and receptionist duties
* Communicating between units/departments and outside agencies
* Maintaining healthcare records (HCR) and data entry
Key Responsibilities
The Clerical Officer (Ward Clerk) will be responsible for:
* Managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date healthcare records
* Communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
* Providing administrative support to the multidisciplinary team
* Assisting with data entry and maintenance of electronic patient records
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A minimum of two years experience in a clerical/secretarial role
* Excellent interpersonal skills with proven written and verbal communication abilities
* Excellent secretarial and organisational skills
* Excellent computer skills with experience of Microsoft Office/Outlook
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in a similar role within a healthcare setting would be an advantage.
Medical Dictaphone typing experience is also desirable.
Reporting Structure
The Clerical Officer will report to the Corporate & Patient Services Manager and be accountable to them.
