At Lir Chocolates, we’re looking for a Trainer to take on this blank canvas role and help shape the future of our workforce.
Responsibilities
This is more than a traditional training role – it’s an opportunity to transform how we operate, drive improvements, and be part of launching our new Learning Management System (LMS) as we move from manual processes to a dynamic, system-driven platform. You’ll work independently while building strong relationships across teams, ensuring everyone from production to finance has the skills and confidence to succeed. You will be at the heart of our chocolate factory, delivering, assessing, and evaluating training programmes that ensure our teams have the knowledge and confidence to excel in their roles. You'll collaborate with stakeholders across the business to maintain compliance, drive performance, and ensure our staff receive top-quality learning experiences in formats that work for them. You will report into the Zertus group Learning & Development Manager who is UK based. On site you will work as part of the HR team, collaborating with all departments from production, warehouse, quality to finance, NPD and engineering!Your MissionReview and enhance existing training processes, identify gaps, and work with the L&D Manager to create an action plan. Design and deliver engaging training on key topics such as Food Safety, Allergen Awareness, Equality & Diversity, New Starter Inductions and more. Ensure compliance training levels are maintained. Create innovative learning solutions and explore new ways to engage our workforce, from SOPs to One Point Lessons.Partner with SMEs to design mandatory training and update policies.Maintain Lir's existing (excel-based) Learning Management System (LMS) and complete all admin/ housekeeping duties.Play a central role in launching and managing Lir’s new LMS, ensuring it becomes a go-to platform for learning across the business. Assist the L&D Manager in maintaining KPI's.Provide ongoing assessments and validation to ensure employees retain and apply their training on the job.Build trust and strong connections across teams, becoming the go-to person for training and development needs.Become a Manufacturing expert, with a strong understanding of factory processes.Participate in internal and external audits, leading from a training perspective and gathering any required evidence.
Qualifications
A proactive, curious individual who thrives in dynamic environments and has a knack for driving improvement. Proven experience in a training or coaching role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.The ability to quickly get up to speed on our training content in order to maintain, improve and deliver to employees (Food Safety, Allergen Awareness etc).Excellent people skills, with the ability to inspire and engage teams.Strong organistional skills and attention to detail.Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).Desirable: Professional Trainer Certificate and experience using an Learning Management System (LMS).
