Key Responsibilities:
As a Raw Material Buyer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production processes. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Purchasing Raw Materials: Execute purchases based on production forecasts, stock levels, and SAP system requirements to keep production flowing seamlessly.
2. Supplier Management: Balance supplier capacity with internal inventory levels to meet production forecasts, proactively addressing any availability issues.
3. Delivery Coordination: Schedule, manage, and monitor raw materials deliveries to align with production needs, ensuring no disruptions occur.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders to maintain high internal customer satisfaction and meet business requirements.
5. Data Management: Maintain accurate item master data and price agreements within the SAP system, ensuring all information is up-to-date.
6. Order Administration: Handle the general administration of purchase orders, order confirmations, and invoicing with precision.
7. Performance Monitoring: Analyse and optimise supplier delivery performance, addressing discrepancies as they arise.
8. Claims Processing: Collaborate with the Quality and Goods Receiving Departments to process claims related to order quantity, delivery dates, and packaging.
9. Risk Mitigation: Identify stakeholder needs, providing effective solutions while minimising risks.
10. Inventory Optimisation: Analyse purchasing parameters to reduce inventory levels while ensuring parts availability.
11. Additional Duties: Undertake other ancillary tasks associated with the role as needed.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A 3rd level qualification in Materials Management, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing/planning/scheduler role.
3. Experience working with SAP Hana or an equivalent ERP system is essential.
4. A background in a manufacturing environment is a distinct advantage.
5. Knowledge of MRP systems.
6. A self-starter attitude with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
8. Excellent planning, scheduling, negotiating, and organisational skills.
9. A proven record of attention to detail and strong reporting capabilities.
10. Proficiency in IT skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
