Title: Maintenance Technician
This shift position is based at our clients' site in the County Waterford area. The purpose of this position will be to provide preventative and overhaul maintenance on process equipment, packaging lines, and plant utilities.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
* Optimizing changeover of lines in all areas
* Sharing knowledge and training others
* Maintaining the highest levels of Health and Safety standards
* Minimizing unplanned downtime
* Active participation in changeover processes via teamwork
* Contributing positively to OEE of production line output
* Impacting areas of Right First Time (RFT) and customer service (Internal/External)
* Providing excellence in service to internal customers
* Participating in and completing the Technician Training Program
* Carrying out work orders on all equipment in accordance with MERP preventative maintenance plans
* Providing line cover, troubleshooting, and breakdown maintenance of electrical/mechanical repairs on all equipment
* Carrying out annual overhaul maintenance on all equipment
* Assisting in GPS to reduce waste and improve plant operating efficiencies
* Supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a team-oriented environment
* Working in accordance with all Health and Safety, Maintenance, Manufacturing, and GMP Procedures
* Improving the safety of electrical and mechanical equipment
* Completing and maintaining all required documentation/logs/records in accordance with documented system requirements
* Ensuring that all further maintenance requirements are reported to the relevant shift production supervisor/maintenance supervisor
* Monitoring and adjusting line changeovers and line running
* Conducting breakdown maintenance and on-line troubleshooting
* Implementing minor capital projects
* Continuously improving process and machine reliability to achieve the highest level of plant reliability
* Working as part of the work centre team to support the area
* Developing and implementing new ideas, modifications, and techniques to improve processes and efficiencies
* Maintaining housekeeping in the engineering workshops and associated working areas
* Carrying out line changeovers and recording issues to close out improvement actions
* Training others, including apprentices and contractors, on line changeovers and line adjustments
* Monitoring active lines and maintaining default positions on the manufacturing lines
* Attending and participating in shift changeover meetings
* Conducting safety audits and risk assessments
* Embracing change and innovation with respect to new technology and developments
* Performing other duties as assigned based on new developments or changes to the role
* Taking a proactive approach and being capable of working on own initiative in a team-based environment
* Exhibiting good problem-solving skills
* Understanding and committing to continuous improvement
* Complying with Safety standards, policies, and procedures while conducting normal duties
* Reporting all ZAP's, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to the Department Manager/Supervisor immediately
* Documenting all ZAP's/accidents in conjunction with the team leader/Supervisor
* Leading by example and casting the right shadow
* Complying with quality standards, procedures, policies, SOP's, and all other approved documentation
* Addressing deviations that may occur during routine production that impact product quality or line efficiency
The purpose of the 6 STEP Problem Solving Process is to provide a mechanism and guidelines to:
* Carry out effective investigations into problems or deviations
* Implement an effective root cause analysis process to identify the most likely root cause of the problem
* Implement effective corrective and/or preventative actions to ensure the problem does not reoccur
What we need from you is:
* Senior trades or equivalent qualification
* Area of specialization in mechanical or electrical
* Minimum knowledge level to work on the equipment
* 3 years minimum job-related experience
* Must have a Senior Trades Certificate from relevant and approved awarding authorities
