Overview
The Regional Planner will lead the planning team with the planning and programming of the design, procurement and construction activities associated with projects in a geographical area. To regularly review the programme and planning management function in the preconstruction and construction phases. To develop regular reports to feedback on progress and performance to the Regional Director.
Responsibilities
* To support the project directors & director in charge in the assessment of the programme risk at prequalification stage – bid or no bid.
* To review the development of the baseline contract programme, covering all aspects of design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
* To oversee the preparation of a construction (target) programme highlighting areas of improvement against the contract programme.
* To lead the regional planning team to make sure that all programmes, phasing and work undertaken is in a consistent format.
* To support the director in charge in business improvement measures with planning and project controls.
* To report back to the Regional Director/s on the current programme position on all projects on a weekly monthly basis. To regularly review programmes, outputs and phasing with the Regional Directors.
* To validate the tender event programme for the procurement of subcontractors incorporating design release and lead in activities is correct and achievable.
* To co-ordinate the development of 4D graphical models for the business, where required or 2D phasing plans.
* To oversee construction methodology to effectively demonstrate the construction techniques and sequencing in order to successfully deliver projects.
* To review all project prelim books including, but not limited to, staff resource, logistics and temporary works requirements.
* To engage with the supply chain to review the project programme with regards to design, lead ins, construction periods, plant & labour requirements.
* To review risk and opportunities for every programme produced and highlight potential mitigation measures in the programme, including float and time risk allowances.
Experience
* 3 - 5 years experience in a Planner role.
Qualifications
* Relevant Degree or diploma.
* Advanced construction project management software training - progress analysis & s-curve reporting. Managing costs & resources.
* Primavera P6 Training Managing People Training.
* Advanced BIM training and understanding of the common data environment.
