Our client is one of Ireland's leading Civil & Building Contractors with operations throughout the country.
They have a requirement for a Design Coordinator with BCAR experience to join the team on a project based in Greystones, Wicklow.
Responsibilities
1. Work with the Design & Build team and outside Design Teams.
2. Treat Health and Safety, sustainability, cost, time, constructability, and appropriate quality matters as primary drivers of approach.
3. Work alongside the Design Manager to chair and minute weekly Design Team / Information meetings.
4. Coordinate with the Project Manager / Contracts Manager and site team to review upcoming information requirements to ensure alignment with project timelines.
5. Track the Design Release / Schedule of information.
6. Attend design / technical workshop meetings with subcontractors and design teams to agree on systems / products.
7. Oversee and compile Material / Technical Submittals in conjunction with subcontractors / suppliers.
8. Communicate with the Design team and subcontractors until the submittal reaches approval.
9. Oversee the issuance of Design Submissions and Designer Checklists via the Autodesk (ACC) CDE.
10. Update the Design Submissions tracker on a minimum weekly basis or after a revision is issued.
11. Maintain the RFI tracker.
12. Assist with BCAR management, site inspections, and receipt of BCAR documentation from subcontractors/suppliers.
13. Assist with site QA/QC, and closure of IFCOs (Issues for Closeout) received from our DT and the client's Assigned Certifier.
14. Keep the project QS up to date on any client or DT changes to the design that may have commercial implications.
15. Complete the design section of the bi-weekly Contractors Progress reports such as DS’s MTS, RFIs, etc.
Requirements
1. Prior on-site experience in Design Management, Site Management or Project Management, or experience working as a site/senior engineer, with an engineering degree qualification.
2. Previous experience working on medium to large construction projects.
3. Awareness of construction methodologies.
4. Use of web-based contract communication tools.
5. Safe Pass card holder and Manual Handling training.
6. Good people management and interpersonal skills.
7. High level of IT skills including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & AutoCAD.
8. High level of written and verbal communication skills.
9. Ability to work in highly regulated environments.
10. Excellent attention to detail.
11. Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
12. High level of organization skills.
