Advanced Specialist Pharmacist (Oncology/Haematology)
The successful candidate will be a registered pharmacist with a minimum of 4 years post-registration hospital experience, including significant practice in haematology/oncology and line management. They will possess excellent leadership, interpersonal and people management skills, as well as experience in change management and quality improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Ensure the highest priority is given to patient care and safety at all times.
* Understand, model and promote the hospital's core values: Quality and Safety, Dignity and Respect, Caring and Listening, Responsibility and Integrity, Excellence and Innovation.
* Strategically and operationally lead, manage and develop the provision of pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy services to the Haematology/Oncology day ward and inpatient wards of the hospital.
Qualifications and Experience
* Be registered with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered.
* Have at least 4 years of satisfactory post-registration hospital experience.
* Possess the requisite specialised knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the role.
Ability and Skills Required
* Excellent planning, organisational and resource management skills.
* Excellent leadership, interpersonal and people management skills.
* Experience in change management and quality improvement initiatives.
Desirable Criteria
* Formal management and leadership training or equivalent experience in management, training and supervision of Pharmacy staff.
* Experience in Good Clinical Practice.
* A further qualification such as a post-graduate diploma or MSc in Clinical Pharmacy.
