There is currently a permanent, whole-time vacancy available in the Maternity Ward, with managerial responsibility for the labour ward.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for a Clinical Midwife Manager 3 from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full-time or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:
* To provide professional leadership and practice standards in the labour ward (the successful candidate may be required to work in any service area within the vicinity as the need arises).
* To lead out on quality and safety standards in the labour ward.
* To have a central focus for leading on Midwifery Professional practice and standards of care.
* To focus on effective multidisciplinary team working.
* To oversee the management resources including staffing and staff development.
Eligibility Criteria, Qualifications and / or Experience:
* Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc.
* Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
* Are registered in the Midwives Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
AND
* Have at least 5 years post registration full-time (or an aggregate of 5 years post registration full-time) experience of which 2 years (or an aggregate of 2 years post registration full-time experience) must be in the speciality area of Maternity Services.
* Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
* Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
* Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
* Annual Registration: On appointment, practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the Midwives Division of the Register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann).
* Confirm annual registration with NMBI to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
Health:
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
Character:
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
Post Specific Requirements:
* Have successfully completed an accredited neonatal resuscitation certification or agree to undertake an accredited neonatal resuscitation certification within an agreed time period.
* Have successfully completed an accredited fetal monitoring certification or agree to undertake an accredited foetal monitoring certification within an agreed time period.
* Have successfully completed an accredited breastfeeding / lactation programme or agree to undertake an accredited breastfeeding / lactation programme within an agreed time period.
* Must demonstrate depth and breadth of experience in the speciality area or related area of midwifery.
