Job Description
As a Finance Intern you will be responsible for the execution of tasks within the Finance department. You will work within the guidelines and procedures provided by HedgeServ and under the supportive supervision and guidance of your Supervisor and Manager. You can expect to be a key member of the team.
You will be required to perform core tasks accurately and in a timely and efficient manner. Every intern will receive excellent induction training, in addition to essential online based training, as well as technical and personal development. We have a very active Sports & Social club which organises regular team events such as soccer leagues, tag rugby, staff parties and general get togethers, which everyone enjoys. Interns are also included in HedgeServ’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and charity work.
Key Accountabilities of the Role
1. Assist in the preparation of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable documents for daily cash reconciliation;
2. Assist in the performance of the daily cash reconciliation process;
3. Updating and maintaining support logs for accounts payable transactions;
4. Filing and scanning all supporting documentation for accounts payable transactions;
5. Providing support to month end process;
6. Providing support to the Accounting team;
7. Other daily ad-hoc duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
8. Strong academic background with an interest in financial services
9. Proficient with technology including having used Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams
10. Clear communicator, who can articulate their actions, identify root causes, and suggest improved ideas
11. You will have analytical mind with problem-solving skills
12. You will be attentive to detail, well organised and will be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
