Global Peacebuilding Manager A new, senior role within Christian Aid Ireland, responsible for managing Christian Aid's portfolio of peacebuilding and conflict prevention programmes.

Our deep solidarity with our partners and the communities with whom we work, lies at the heart of our work.Role purposeThis is a new, senior role within Christian Aid Ireland's International Programmes Team that will be responsible for overseeing and managing Christian Aid's portfolio of peacebuilding and conflict prevention (PBCP) programmes, which include focus on WPS agenda, YPS agenda, humanitarian – development – peace nexus, supporting peace processes, climate and conflict, catalysing cross-border cooperation, tackling impunity, supporting HRDs, digital space and innovation, religion and peacebuilding, preventing gender based violence, conflict analysis and sensitivity.The role will manage the thematic area of peacebuilding and conflict prevention, focusing on the full and effective delivery of our peacebuilding work, ensuring programme quality and technical excellence, and the development of the portfolio of PBCP work.
Applied skills/knowledge and expertiseEssentialPostgraduate level degree in international relations, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, development studies or related areas.
Experience of working in international development and peacebuilding programming (minimum 5 years).
Significant experience of managing and reporting on large scale institutional donor projects and programmes.
Extensive experience and proven competence in programme strategy, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Extensive programme/project and people management experience and cross organizational working.
Strong experience in programme cycle management approaches and tools, including participatory planning, monitoring and evaluation.Extensive experience working in programme countries (or significant equivalent, including demonstrated experience of working directly with country programmes).Thematic expertise in Peacebuilding and Conflict Prevention, preferably in fragile settings, and familiarity with current thinking and trends.Experience of programme development, proposal writing and securing funding.
Excellent facilitation skills and ability to promote critical thinking and reflection.
Experience of budgets/financial management, ability to work with financial information.
Significant experience of working within a large complex organisation and influencing decision making at senior management/board level across complex and diverse functions.
Significant knowledge and understanding of best practice in capacity development and learning.
Experience of delivering high impact reports to key stakeholders.
Track record in contract management, and meeting donor compliance and reporting standards Demonstrated knowledge of programme quality principles and approaches, including gender equality and social inclusion and conflict sensitivity.Significant knowledge and understanding of best practice in capacity development and learning.Knowledge of community led approaches to development work.Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to discuss sensitive issues, influence and inspire others to take up new challenges.
