We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant Manager to support our warehouse operations, oversee staff, and drive efficiency in our inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Support:
o Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth workflows.
o Monitor and ensure timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of inventory.
o Develop and implement strategies to optimise warehouse processes.
2. Team Leadership:
o Supervise warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
o Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and accountability.
3. Inventory Management:
o Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and regular audits.
o Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure stock levels meet demand.
4. Compliance and Safety:
o Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
o Ensure the warehouse operates under optimal health and safety conditions.
5. Reporting:
o Generate and analyse reports on warehouse productivity, inventory levels, and staff performance.
o Provide recommendations for improvements to the Warehouse Manager.
6. Technology & Equipment:
o Assist in managing warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools.
o Oversee the maintenance and proper use of warehouse equipment.
Qualifications And Skills
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
2. Experience:
o 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
o Experience in the retail or footwear industry is a plus.
3. Skills:
o Strong organisational and time management skills.
o Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
o Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
o Problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
* Comfortable working in varying warehouse conditions (e.g., temperature changes).
