A Statistician or Data Analyst at the CSO engages in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data, employing statistical techniques to uncover trends and insights that facilitate informed decision-making. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and utility of statistical data, supporting policymakers and the public with evidence-based insights.
Responsibilities
As a Statistician within the Central Statistics Office, your key responsibilities will include:
* Designing surveys to collect relevant statistical data.
* Analysing large datasets using statistical software to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
* Interpreting data results and preparing detailed reports to convey findings.
* Collaborating with other departments to develop methodologies and best practices for data collection and analysis.
* Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data throughout the research processes.
* Provide insights and evidence to aid policymakers in areas such as employment, social conditions, and environmental issues.
* Lead and manage teams involved in various phases of the statistical production life cycle, ensuring compliance with best practices.
Locations and Opportunities
Statisticians/Data Analysts will primarily be assigned to offices in Cork or Dublin (Rathmines and Swords) with opportunities for blended working where possible.
