Established in 1984, Lawrence Engineering is a family-owned precision engineering and contract manufacturing company located in Sligo, specialising in providing comprehensive solutions for leading medical device manufacturers. We offer a range of solutions including mould and tool design, high-quality injection moulds, extrusion tooling, jigs, fixtures and injection mould trialling and manufacturing.
We operate from two distinct facilities in Sligo, a 1000 sqm purpose-built toolmaking plant in Loughill, Co, Sligo and a 1040 sqm facility featuring a state-of-the-art Class 8 Medical Clean Room located in Collooney, Co. Sligo.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Full Time
In line with company growth, we are seeking a new Mould Tool Designer to join our expanding team.
Role and Responsibilities
* Design and develop multi-cavity injection mould tools tailored for the medical device industry.
* Collaborate closely with clients and the manufacturing team to understand specifications and project requirements.
* Oversee subcontracted work, ensuring that the projects remain on track.
* Select appropriate materials and components to meet performance and regulatory standards.
* Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges to achieve optimal performance and reliability.
* Manage multiple projects, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing injection mould tools.
* Prior experience in injection moulding and overmoulding.
* Experience working in the medical device industry is desirable but not essential.
* Proficiency in CAD software, specifically Solidworks.
* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and precision.
* Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and deal with customers directly.
* Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritising tasks and working to deadlines.
* Self-starter who is comfortable taking initiative.
