Mechanical Construction Supervisor - EPCM - Life Sciences
Our client is a leading EPCm consultancy and global player in the Semiconductor, Pharma, and Biotech sectors.
Supervises and manages Mechanical works including trades, contractors, and specialist sub-contractors.
The Mechanical Supervisor is assigned to a project as a member of the Construction Team with responsibility for the proper and timely construction of the Mechanical Scope in accordance with our clients Safety and Quality standards.
Assists the CM with Constructability Reviews and Interactive planning sessions with the Client and Design Team.
Ensures that the construction phase of the projects is adequately provided with suitably capable, qualified, and experienced personnel, together with all the necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities, and other resources.
Adheres to best-in-class site execution SOPs as guidance to the Field Supervisors.
Complies with the clients construction methods, procedures, and practices in all respects, particularly those relating to safety, quality assurance, personnel, and industrial relations.
Ensures that the applicable statutory and other legal requirements are properly observed.
Understands the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations as they affect the responsibilities of employees.
Keepts abreast of developments in the construction industry and assists in ensuring that the clients capability continues to develop and excel.
Ensures that the projects are constructed to the drawings, specifications, applicable standards, good construction practices, to schedule, and in accordance with the cost budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Directs and controls the activities of the assigned staff and their functions
* Carries out assessments and appraisals of the contractors works and reports the results in accordance with practice
* Ensure the clients are utilising the best technology available and ensuring innovative ideas are encouraged
* Ensuring lessons learned on projects are recorded and shared
* Reviews contractor progress reports and provides input to weekly CM report out to Client
* Attends daily whiteboard meetings
* Attends contractor progress meetings
* Manage construction works from pre-construction to system turnover
* Ensures that the criteria as set out in the Quality plan are adhered to including all pipe testing and logging procedures
Requirements:
* A minimum of 10+ years recent relevant experience in a Mechanical Construction role, preferably in the Pharma/Chemical/Biotech industry
* A proven track record in Mechanical Construction is required
* An understanding of ATEX and Hazardous Area Zoning
* The ability to organise, plan, and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules
* Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities is required
* Good communication skills combined with an imaginative and creative approach to problem-solving
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in cross-functional team environments, as well as independently
