Job Summary: The GMP Maintenance Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment on Days. This role ensures that all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and safety guidelines. The Day Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians, coordinate with other departments, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:
* Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians on days.
* Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
* Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional development of team members.
Maintenance Operations:
* Oversee and manage all maintenance activities to ensure equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and reliably.
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
* Coordinate and prioritize maintenance work orders, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
GMP Compliance:
* Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP regulations and company policies.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, including work orders, calibration logs, and equipment history.
* Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Safety and EHSS:
* Promote a culture of safety and ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with Environmental, Occupational Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) guidelines.
* Conduct safety training and ensure team members are aware of and follow safety protocols.
* Investigate and report any safety incidents or near-misses, and implement corrective actions.
Coordination and Communication:
* Collaborate with other departments, including Production, Quality, and Engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding maintenance activities, equipment status, and any potential issues.
* Participate in cross-functional meetings and provide updates on maintenance performance and initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
* Utilize data and metrics to monitor maintenance performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Stay current with industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology and practices.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance management within a GMP environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
* Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of GMP regulations, maintenance best practices, and equipment reliability. Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other maintenance software.
* Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, manage performance, and foster a positive work environment.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
* Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
* Safety Awareness: Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with EOHSS guidelines.
