Job Description:
MJM Marine is seeking a Managing Estimator to oversee all aspects of price build-up on projects, including managing the company's estimating department.
Main Responsibilities:
* Estimating: Prepares tender returns and estimates, oversees preparation of tender returns by other team members, undertakes take-off and measurements, subcontractor and supplier pricing analysis, and prepares tender packages for suppliers and subcontractors.
* Workload Management: Organizes diary commitments, ensures tenders are returned ahead of schedule, and oversees allocation of work to estimators based on skill set.
* Margin Improvement: Understands turnover and margin requirements, presents opportunities and risk registers as part of the tender settlement process, and liaises with subcontractors and suppliers to maximize instances of tender success.
* Development, Recruitment and Retention: Maintains personal development plan, targets work opportunities or activities that develop individuals based on skills gap, provides mentoring, and manages people aspects for direct and indirect reports within the team.
Requirements:
* At least 5 years' experience in fit-out, marine, or construction sector with line manager experience and significant experience in take-off, cost planning, subcontractor and supplier procurement, and risk identification.
* Ability to use Conquest estimating software, Microsoft Office 365, and possess a full driving license and access to a vehicle.
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
