Health & Safety Lead – Leixlip, Co Kildare
About The Role
The role holder will provide support to the Operations Teams and support functions across our business and drive and promote the “Incident & Injury Free” culture of health and safety, compliance and excellence.
As a business, we are planning to double in revenue and headcount over the next five years. The Health & Safety function on-site will be key to contributing to this success. There will be opportunities to advance quickly with this role for those capable and eager.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide support, advice, and guidance on key contract and client requirements in relation to compliance with Company, ISO, and legislative requirements.
* Design, promote, and lead health and safety implementation plans in accordance with Company, legal, ISO, and contractual requirements.
* Develop and retain successful working relationships with key stakeholders.
* Regularly review performance standards which deliver client and customer expectations.
* Manage legal obligations and client expectations in line with industry best practice.
* Develop and implement innovative solutions and best practices to achieve and maintain a positive health and safety culture across our business.
* Oversee the development and continuous improvement of site-specific risk assessments, and support pre-planned walks and reviews of Method Statement/Risk Assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPAs), and work permit systems to meet Company and regulatory requirements.
* Drive compliance and continuous improvement through auditing and education/training.
* Ensure audits are completed and implement corrective action as required.
* Manage the health and safety legal register to mitigate against incident and risk.
* Review incident investigations and report/present to the Senior Management Team.
* Attend/chair safety team meetings and safety whiteboard meetings.
* Support training as required.
* Review and report on relevant KPIs to Senior Management Team and relevant stakeholders.
* Chair a quarterly health and safety meeting.
Minimum Requirements:
* Primary Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
* Chartered membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) or at least working towards attaining this accreditation.
* Full Clean Driving Licence.
* Valid Visa to work in Ireland on a full-time basis.
* Safe Pass.
* PSDP.
* PSCS.
* Office Ergonomic and VDU Assessor.
* Train the Trainer.
* Auditor.
