We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join a Team for the above position. Candidates must be highly motivated, creative, and experienced with a passion for engaging with the people supported daily.
Our client is actively hiring fulltime Healthcare Assistant candidates to join the Team offering excellent pay and conditions in a modern purpose-built nursing home located in Dublin South.
The Health Care Assistant reports directly to the Person in Charge.
The role:
1. Assist in the provision of care delivery at the highest level of care.
2. Ensure that residents retain their dignity and privacy.
3. Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to residents, promoting their equality and dignity at all times.
4. Carry out assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of the Team Leader (e.g. washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining and all other aspects of daily living).
5. Act as the named Carer for specific residents as allocated by the Team Leader.
6. Respect the privacy and dignity of all residents and promote their independence.
7. Ensure all residents' living areas and bedrooms are left neat and presentable for residents and visitors.
8. Communicate with all residents and their relatives/representatives. Ensure that all are made feel welcome and offered refreshments.
9. Know all residents by name.
10. Assist in the delivery of palliative and end of life care.
11. Answer the call bell promptly.
12. Contribute to the serving of resident meals, assisting residents to eat and drink as necessary.
13. Escort residents when required to travel externally.
14. Comply with all policies and procedures relevant to the job role including those that incorporate health and safety, infection control and waste disposal.
15. Be willing to achieve FETAC Level 5- Health Care Assistant and undertake appointed ongoing training.
16. Undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by Senior Management.
17. Be aware of the confidential nature of the work and in particular, the right of residents to confidentiality.
Required:
All staff to have completed education to leaving cert level (or equivalent). All staff recruited from the 1st Jan 2015 shall hold FETAC Level 5 (or equivalent) - Health Care Assistant. Staff recruited between Mar 2008 and the 31st of December 2014, who do not hold a FETAC Level 5 qualification are required to have commenced the training within 6 months of the 1st of Jan 2015. Staff employed prior to March 2008 shall have their competency and skills assessed to determine their need for required future training and suitable arrangements shall be in place to identify these needs and ensure that they are implemented.
On offer:
Sunday premium of basic plus 30%. Night Premium of basic pay.
Working hours are currently from 08:00-20:00/ 20:00-08:00 (current rota, subject to change). Schedule is average 38.5 hours per week. Full-time indefinite contract. Parking available. Lunch provided.

Job Requirements:
Hold or be in the process of undertaking a minimum of QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or a minimum of QQI Level 6 Social Care or a Nursing qualification. Have experience in supporting people with disabilities. Hold or be working towards gaining a Full Manual Driving license and willingness to drive for work. Desire for personal and professional development. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Eligibility to work in Ireland is essential. Good Standard of verbal and written English. Computer literate (experience with online care management systems an advantage). Personal integrity and trustworthiness. Positive attitude. HCA must hold European Citizenship or have Stamp 4.
