Job Title: Health Advisor
Reports to: Head of Health Support
Terms: 2-year contract with possibility of extension
Job location: Dublin, Ireland, UK, France & any of Concern's programme countries of operation (up to 30% travel)
Salary/Pay Band: Global Band 6 (Advisor)

Concern works to develop and scale up effective, evidence-based interventions to promote optimum health, particularly among the most poor and vulnerable.
Role Purpose: The Health Advisor will sit within the Strategy, Advocacy and Learning (SAL) team and closely liaise with the other Global Health Advisors.
The primary responsibility is to ensure that Concern countries of operation have the capacity to deliver high-quality sustainable health interventions.
They will provide technical support to Concern's health work across various contexts, focusing on extremely poor and vulnerable populations.
Responsibilities: Provide technical support for country and regional Health Programmes with a focus on health integration across nutrition and health.Conduct country technical health visits and develop country-specific health programme development plans.Support health capacity building initiatives with Concern and partner organisations.Contribute to developing Concern's approach to Outbreak Preparedness and Response.Ensure reproductive health is a key approach to health programmes.Participate in the identification of health funding opportunities.Work with other health SAL colleagues to ensure health and nutrition programming is fully integrated.Document and disseminate lessons learned from Concern's Health Programming.Support country programmes with Monitoring and Evaluation of health programmes.Maintain relationships with other health agencies and represent Concern in various forums.Participate in annual health work planning and reviews.Support recruitment of health staff in country programmes.Provide support in the management of pharmacy and medical supplies.Uphold and promote Concern's values, including workplace equality, diversity and inclusion.Participate in Concern's emergency response as required.Role Holder Requirements: Essential: Master's degree in public health/Infectious Diseases or similar.Fluency in French is a must.Experience in French speaking humanitarian health contexts.Undergraduate degree in Nursing, Medicine, Public Health or similar.Strong knowledge of primary health care programming.4-5 years' experience in management of health programmes.Basic competence in quantitative, qualitative, and participatory methods.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills in English.Ability to travel internationally up to 30% in fragile contexts.Desirable: Experience in health system strengthening.Training and facilitation skills.Experience of behaviour change approaches.Experience of managing reproductive health programmes.Midwifery or reproductive health skills.To apply: CVs should be submitted through our website at https://jobs.concern.net by the closing date.
