MTU Department of Architecture
The Department of Architecture at MTU, Cork offers programmes in Architecture, Architectural Technology and Interior Architecture. All our programmes are committed to educating our students in developing inspiring environments that are socially responsible, technically sophisticated, and fundamentally sustainable.
By bringing teaching, research and civic activity together around these areas the department is an exciting and dynamic environment in which to work and study. The Department has a growing body of just under 300 students, and an experienced and committed staff team of highly experienced architects, interior architects and technologists, and academic researchers.
Role Description
The advertised position is for Architectural Technology/Interior Architecture. The position will involve lecturing and module delivery at undergraduate levels including in modules such as design studio, technical design studio, graphic representation, technology, computer skills and theory. The ideal candidate will have strengths in design, tectonics/detailing and sustainability. It is desirable that the candidate would also undertake research activity including postgraduate student research supervision. Level 9 Research Masters and Level 10 PhD opportunities are also available. Qualifications
* Experience of Interior Architecture and/or Architectural Technology
* Experience in delivering lectures and supervising student projects
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students
* Honors degree in Interior Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field
* Proficiency in relevant software tools
