Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Networking Cabling Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network cabling infrastructure. The candidate should possess a strong understanding of networking principles and be proficient in implementing structured cabling solutions.
Location: Dublin
Salary: 32k-40k D.O.E
Type: Contract (3/4 Months)
Responsibilities:
1. Install, terminate, and test network cabling, including copper and fibre optics.
2. Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in cabling infrastructure.
3. Perform routine maintenance on existing cabling systems to ensure optimal performance.
4. Identify and troubleshoot issues related to network cabling and infrastructure.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network cabling layouts, configurations, and changes.
6. Create as-built documentation for completed cabling projects.
7. Work closely with network engineers and other IT professionals to implement and support networking solutions.
8. Collaborate with other departments to understand and meet specific cabling requirements.
9. Conduct testing and validation of installed cabling systems to ensure compliance with performance standards.
10. Implement quality control measures to guarantee the reliability and integrity of the network infrastructure.
Qualifications:
Education:
1. IT Networking Related degree
2. Relevant certifications in cabling or networking (e.g., BICSI RCDD, CompTIA Network+).
Experience:
1. Proven experience as a Networking Cabling Technician or similar role.
2. Hands-on experience with the installation and maintenance of network cabling systems.
Technical Skills:
1. Proficient in the installation and termination of copper and fibre optic cabling.
2. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for structured cabling.
Communication Skills:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving:
1. Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve cabling issues.
2. Capacity to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials associated with cabling installations.
2. Comfort working in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
