As we grow, we are seeking an experienced Head of Clinical Services to lead and oversee the clinical operations of our organization.
This is a senior leadership role that requires a dynamic individual who can ensure the delivery of outstanding care while driving clinical excellence and regulatory compliance. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the post holder will contribute to the strategic development of ACC and will work collaboratively to ensure our objectives and ambitions are achieved.
Location: Sandyford, Dublin (hybrid – onsite 2-3 days per week); travel to regional services is required.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
* Explore and develop opportunities to grow clinical services that support the wider healthcare system and are aligned with the company’s mission, vision, and goals.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to identify growth opportunities and enhance the scope of services offered.
* Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across clinical teams.
Clinical Oversight
* Provide leadership and supervision directly to the national senior clinical team and oversee the system of supervision and support provided to the frontline via local management structures.
* Ensure all clinical services meet or exceed regulatory, ethical, and professional standards.
* Monitor client outcomes and satisfaction, driving initiatives to improve quality of care.
Clinical Governance
* Provide clinical leadership to the Quality and Safety team in the development and implementation of a robust clinical governance framework to ensure accountability for the quality and safety of care.
* Oversee systems for monitoring, evaluating, and improving clinical performance and patient outcomes.
* Attend and receive reports from clinical governance committees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and quality improvement.
Regulatory Compliance
* Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, national standards, and accreditation standards.
* Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support safe, effective, and consistent care delivery.
* Serve as the point of contact for accreditation and regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.
Team Development
* Recruit, train, and mentor the clinical senior management team, fostering professional growth and development.
* Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance team performance.
* Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and a supportive work environment.
Operational Excellence
* Oversee the allocation and utilization of clinical resources to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
* Manage clinical budgets, ensuring cost-effective service delivery without compromising quality.
* Implement and oversee clinical risk management programs to mitigate potential liabilities.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build strong relationships with patients, families, and caregivers, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction.
* Develop strong and cohesive relationships across functions and within the Senior Management Team to ensure that the strategic goals of ACC are delivered.
* Partner with referral sources, community organizations, and healthcare providers to enhance service offerings and continuity of care.
* Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and professional forums.
Requirements:
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse currently on the NMBI register (General Register at a minimum).
* Primary Degree in Nursing or equivalent.
* Master’s degree/Postgraduate in Healthcare/General Management or Business Administration is an advantage.
Experience
* Minimum of 7 years clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within acute, community, or a similar healthcare setting.
* Proven track record of managing clinical teams and driving quality improvement initiatives.
Skills
* Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
